You are welcome to join us at our Sunday service, which is held most weeks at 09.30am, or at one of our many mid-week activities. These include a community lunch 1st Wednesday each month 12.30pm (booking essential); Craft group 1st Monday each month 10.00am-12.00pm; chat and play toddlers group each Tuesday 09.00-11.20am in term-time; Pilates class Wednesdays 10.30am;, Awesome after school club for primary aged children alternate Mondays 3.30-5.00pm in term-time; and Tea at Two (£4 for community tea in aid of playing fields assoc.) from 2.00pm-4.00pm monthly (3rd Wednesday).
We are located 5 miles from Pocklington and 12 miles from York, 200 metres west of the Melbourne Arms on the south side of Main Street. There is on-street parking. If a boat is your preferred means of transport, the Pocklington Canal is navigable from Melbourne and connects to the national waterways system via the River Derwent.
The chapel was first built in 1811 by the Wesleyan Methodists, and modernised for its 200th anniversary year. The church seats 70 and facilities include a meeting room, wheelchair access to all areas including wheelchair accessible toilet, audio loop system, kitchen, small garden and baby changing facilities. The building and its facilities are available for hire at £8 per hour. Tables can be arranged as wished. A plasma screen with audio and facilities for presentation and DVD material is available, to be arranged in advance.
